Vi Pie Friday

Ok so I know it's a Thursday, but this was supposed to be on a Friday and Friday sounds better next to Vi and pie. I mean really, Vi Pie Thursday...? No way. So Vi claims she can't cook/bake, but turns out she makes a pretty mean apple pie.

I added the decoration on top. It seemed appropriate for the occasion and the company. Plus, like true Apple nerds, we were watching yesterday's keynote about iLife '11, OS X Lion, and MacBook Air.

So here it is folks, proof that Vi can bale. Don't let her tell you otherwise.

Day 29: Like Costco at sampling time, but infinitely better

The Metropolitan Market in lower Queen Anne recently completed a major renovation, and to celebrate they had many of their usual vendors throughout the store sampling product.

This shot was taken in the wine tasting section, which had food from the culinary director at Chateau Ste. Michelle, delicious pie from Seattle Pie Company, Kobe Beef sliders from Tom Douglas, gelato from Gelatimo. It was a fun night with delicious local foods from local chefs.

Day 19: Emerald City Supper Club... Cicchetti

The Emerald City Supper Club started off the New Year right at Cicchetti. An expansion of the Italian restaurant Serafina, located in Eastlake, Cicchetti specializes in drinks and seasonal small plates.

Good food, good friends... Check out emeraldcitysupperclub.org to learn more about ECSC and the restaurants we've already visited.

Day 18: Fiesta Feast

One of the regulars at work made tamales earlier this year, and even though I've only worked with him once, he gave three of them to me. I've kept forgetting them in the freezer at work, but this weekend I finally remembered to bring them home. Inspired by the homemade tamales, a few friends and I decided to make a Mexican feast for dinner. Chicken tacos, guacamole, fresh salsa, Pacifico...

Best part of all...delicious leftovers for lunch tomorrow!
