Living in Seattle, I'm surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges — the Cascades, the Olympics; however, I don't take advantage of what's nearby. When a friend came into town, randomly, I decided to take the drive up to Port Angeles to meet them.

I'm back in Hawaii for the holidays! This will be my first Christmas home in 5 years, and surprising my parents was amazing. Loving the family time!
Of course, no holiday on Oahu is complete without the Honolulu City Lights!

Today I learned how to poach an egg! And if my heart could take it, I'd eat poached egg with bacon, onion, and wilted greens on top of toast every morning.
The annual Baker Lake camping trip, aka Stump Jump, was another success.
Swimming in Baker Lake, hikes along Baker River through the the overgrown forrest trees, drinking and BBQing lakeside, and post-camping beers at Birdsview Brewing.
When people find out that I was born and raised in Hawaii, they almost always ask, "why do you live in here?!" After working a full day, I met with friends at Greenlake for a BBQ and picnic near the lake. Some of us even jumped in for a swim. All the while, this sunset hung in the sky. So ask me again.
Seattle is made for these moments.
